Due to war, AIDS and disease there are 2 million orphans in Uganda. Many of the children live in large extended families, often cared for by poor and elderly grandparents, other family members, or guardians.
These children are often undernourished, living in poor homes and do not have the opportunity to go to school.. Many are needed to work in the home , cleaning the house, collect water and firewood and digging the soil,. Often they are required to care for younger siblings or sick relatives.
Evelyn’s Home was built in 2000 and supports 60 children, from aged 7 to 18 years, from Kamutuuza and surrounding areas.
Our Evelyn’s Home sponsorship scheme enables these children to live in a place of safety, in an caring environment, where they receive home comforts, a good diet and an education. The children are cared for by a house mother.
To sponsor a child costs £25 per month and can be subject to Gift Aid. We would encourage all sponsors to consider sponsoring a child until they complete their education on our campus.
