Employment of Co-ordinator of the Little Boys Basket Programme

Presently one of the school teachers is managing this programme, but as the programme develops we believe it will be necessary to have additional help in buying the food and organising its distribution.

Little Boys Basket is a programme which aims to supplement the diet of the children who attend the two schools. Most children will arrive at school having walked five miles without anything to eat – most of them will not eat until they return home in the evening.

This programme has been developed following the expert advice of a nutritionist who is one of our Just Care supporters. She has been able to advise on providing an easily available, low cost supplementary diet which will provide the best nutritional benefit to the children to promote growth, health and prevent sickness. This enables the children to be given breakfast and lunch.

Based on the Bible story of Matthew, ‘The feeding of the five thousand’ Jesus tells his disciples, You give them something to eat therefore we ask people to save a pound from their weekly shopping budget and put it into your Little Boys basket. This is an excellent way of saving small amounts of money from churches, groups or offices which has a huge impact on the wellbeing of the children.

We will send you a lovely handmade basket with five loaves and two fishes in which to collect your coins and information on how to forward the money to Just Care. Please contact Christine Harding via LLB on our contacts page.
